I hope you all had a great long weekend! Hopefully you are rested and ready to go! I spent the weekend in Houston at Rice University where I attended an IB Music training workshop. It was very informative and it was great to be able to meet and network with teachers from all over North America!
The orchestras have a lot going on in the next few months, so please read the information below…
Fall Concert Wrap-Up
I’m so proud of each of the orchestras on their Fall concert! The amount of progress that has taken place in such a short amount of time is remarkable! I’m looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year will bring. Congratulations, everyone!
I wanted to send a special thank you to the AHSOA board for their hard work in putting together the pre-concert dinner and the concert cafe. Your work is greatly appreciated. You help make everything so special for our kids!
If you have photos from the concert that you’d like to share, please share them with [email protected].
Lip Dub Video
The entire AHS will take place in a lip dub video this Friday during our “pep rally” time. This is a chance for you to show your orchestra spirit, so please bring your uniform on Friday so we can be a part of it! We will be in the 2300 hall toward the end and through the door to the outside, just before the camera arrives at the football team and the school bus. More details to follow, but do plan on brining your uniform Friday. If you don’t have your uniform, you will be able to participate in the gymnasium with the rest of the school.
All-State Auditions, Round 1
We have almost 40 students auditioning for the GMEA All-State Orchestra this year! Please don’t forget your audition date is this Saturday, October 13 at Autrey Mill Middle School. Times have been posted on the bulletin board outside of Dr. Laux’s office.
