Introduction

As the sole operator of this business, I strive to provide my clients with the best service and the best possible recording at a reasonable price. I specialize in the non-commercial educational music area, recording live events in stereo. In the recording industry, I am known as a “taper,” as I rarely do multitrack recordings (however I am able to do so in my studio). I am available to come to your site to record your band, orchestra, choir, or recital. I can also record chamber groups or help you get that perfect recording for solo auditions.

After recording many individuals and ensembles in Las Vegas, Orlando, and Columbus, Ohio, I feel that I know what directors are looking for in a quality recording.  My equipment is top-notch and even more important than the equipment is recording technique.  I have done lots of research on a variety of techniques and have had a great deal of experience adjusting to particular acoustical environments.

After visiting the website, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information. I would be happy to discuss your recording needs.

Brief History

I started in audio recording in 1996 as a way to capture the sounds of the middle school orchestra classes I was teaching. Once I got involved in the audio recording process and began to learn about recording gear, I was hooked. After years of recording my students as an educator, I wanted to pursue recording as a side business. Laux Audio was started in 2001 as a way for me to record other teacher’s events. I wanted to help music directors and students capture their memories and help them learn from their performances. My main career is teaching, conducting and performing with orchestras, however I really enjoy a break from it all by serving as a recording engineer. With my education background, I know what music students and directors are looking for in a quality recording and I know it has to remain affordable, especially with recent budget cuts in many performing arts departments.

Over the years, I have become a better recording engineer and have been able to use the funds made from recording concerts to obtain higher quality gear. It is my goal to provide the highest quality recordings and keeping fees reasonable.
