Weird rust?!

Found some oxidation (even rust!) on one of my professional recording units' connections. Very strange! It's been in the same environment as every other piece of gear, yet this one has begun to corrode. It's not like I live by the ocean or anything.

Thanks to the folks at Tascam for recommending Deoxit, manufactured by Caig. It's a great product -- removed most of the rust. The companion product, Deoxit Gold, puts a protective barrier on the connections which prevents further corrosion. You can get both of these at RadioShack for about $15.00. Worth every penny.

I'm gonna use it on the rest of my gear too.
