New work experience
05/26/2007
Almost forgot to
mention my new position at the Apple Store in the
Florida Mall.
Loving it. Getting paid to work with Macs and show people all about them. Life is good.

Relieved...

I am so relieved that
they found a wonderful teacher to take my position at
Winter Park. I couldn't be more pleased! I know that
the program will thrive and that the students will be
taken care of.
Been a while...

It's been a while since
I've last blogged. Wow, over a month. Well, since
then a lot of things have happened.
State MPA on April 24. Very proud of Park Phil on that one. Many said it couldn't be done, but they did it! We played Tragic Overture, The Texians, and Beethoven 5 Finale and they came across with straight superiors, even with some tough judges. They made me very proud that day.
The Spring Concert was a week later on May 1. What an amazing experience! Dave Perkins did an amazing job with a quarter of a million dollar light set up. The kids played well and the movie clips were successful too -- we stayed in sync! Stressful, but fun.
Then there was the awards banquet on May 5. I enjoy recognizing students for their work. It was a tough night emotionally, but we all made it through. The downside was the less-than-stellar projector I rented from the media center. The bulb was about to go and it kept flashing in an out. Kind of hindered the end of the year slide show, but that's how it goes sometimes. I want to publicly thank the orchestra for the gifts -- they were very thoughtful and of course I will never forget my time at WPHS and the wonderful students. I will miss them...
